Faster Adblock Plus filter subscriptions?

I was wondering why my Firefox takes twice as long to launch with addons enabled as opposed to disabled, then realized it was due entirely to Adblock Plus. Even with only the Easylist filters, it takes at least 50% longer to launch the browser than without them.
Anyone know of a "lighter" filterset that'll still block most ads, but is much smaller than Easylist?
 
I haven't really noticed a difference. By "launch", you mean startup time, right? If so, you shouldn't be starting your browser /that/ many times per day. Try minimizing it instead. Alternatively, try Flashblock. That'll stop the most egregious ads, but it'll leave a placeholder in the Flash objects place. You could also try a firewall like Peerblock. That filters ads, but I've never used it for that purpose.
