The world’s first 3D-printed neighborhood now has its first houses

A giant 3D printer is currently squeezing out new homes in rural Mexico. Each one takes 24 hours and lets local families upgrade from a shack to a two-bedroom house. Could this be part of the global housing solution?

And they were completely unable to make houses until just now?

It's a neat project. It would be interesting to see what the cost of the final product is, but I suppose right now some poor people are getting free houses in exchange for being guinea pigs.

I wonder how that compares to traditional concrete pours or cinder block laying. No forms are needed which saves time/labor.
