Fast Writes on or off?

Hi, I was wondering if its better to have fast writes on or off. I already performed a search and some say it causes instability.

...

If it makes your system unstable, turn it off. Otherwise, turn it on. Because "fast writes" are, um... faster?

If you have an Athlon64 or a Radeon 9600 series card, turn them on. Otherwise, you can run into performance issues playing either Hi-Def or h.264 video. Otherwise, i'd turn them off because they've caused compatibility/stability issues for me in the past

Thanks for the fast reply 🙂

yeah i run with them off on my 9800pro. im using the A8v Deluxe ASUS mobo not even stable with AGP8x.. stupid VIA K8T800Pro chipset sucks. but ive got a DFI nF4-D and x800GTO^2 waiting here to go in. 😀

Turned off on my system, due to frequent lockups in certain games. Never did the testing to make sure that Fastwrites were causing the problem, but the performance boost didn't seem very significant anyway.
