fast video card wasted on my system?

I have an Asus p4t-e motherboard with 1.8ghz willamette based system. The fastest cpu I can upgrade to without overclocking is a Pentium 4 2.6 ghz with 400 mhz fsb. Would a Geforce FX or Radeon 9700 Pro be bottlenecked by the 400 mhz fsb at 2.6 ghz or should I bite the bullet and build a 533mhz (or later this year 800mhz) system? I know it's early to ask since the game's not even out but do you think the p4t-e with a 2.6 ghz cpu and Geforce FX or Radeon 9700 would play Doom 3 ok?

Nope, 1.8ghz aint slow, it aint fast either, but it should be fine.
I`ve heard of people running it on far worse systems than yours, not that you have a bad system, its better than mine.
