What is your favorite "fast mex" burrito restaurant? Before someone asks, Taco Bell does not qualify. :)

I prefer Qdoba and Moe's myself, but I admit that I've only tried Chipotle once.

If you don't have any of these around you, my sympathies.

I voted Chipotle but nothing beats the real thing: authentic Mexican food FTW :)

Is there a difference? I've eaten at several of those and other than a little different seasoning, the restaurants are basically identical. Almost identical ingredients, almost identical dishes, almost identical interior decoration.

Chip oh top lay.

I've tried Moe's and Qdoba and found them to be absolutely disgusting (I am not exaggerating.. but I'm sure it has more to do with poor management than anything else). Have not tried Baja Fresh.

Out of these, I've been to Qdoba once and I go to Chipotle fairly regularly. So I guess Chipotle.

What I do there is get a totally loaded bowl (meat, guac, and both beans) and a bag or two of chips and share it with my wife. Plenty of food for two people - sometimes we even have leftovers. Pretty good for $8-10.

They're San Fransisco-style burritos, they're not supposed to be anything like "authentic Mexican food". You can argue that they're not authentic SF-style either, but saying they're not authentic Mexican is no more relevant than saying they're not authentic Chinese.

Anyway, I like Moe's and Chipotle both. Only been to a Qdoba once, and it was pretty good. Don't like Baja Fresh though, but maybe there are just some bad ones near me.

Agreed. In this thread everyone's saying how they're not authentic, yet in the "what chain restaurants do you want nearby" everyone's talking up PF Chang's and Panda Express.

Inauthentic food can still be good!

This list is like handing out the gold medal at the Special Olympics.

:D

true. I've never been to Moe's, and while I tend to like Baja Fresh the most, they are harder to find and if given the choice, I would still go to Chipotle more often

Baja Fresh has a more diverse menu--you can get verde enchiladas for one, and the option to get cheese loaded and baked on to the top of whatever you want--which is overkill, but tasty.

they also have their "fresh salsa" bar.

Moes followed by Chipotle. Also, has anyone here been to a Blue Coast Burritos? I have seen them but never eaten there.

This. Although Chipotle is a close 2nd and cheaper.

Rubios is my latest fave.

http://www.rubios.com/

Their Grilled Steak Gourmet Tacos are incredible.

Corn tortillas topped with toasted cheeses, Grilled Steak, crisp Bacon, habañero citrus salsa, cilantro/onion,
cotija cheese, creamy chipotle picante sauce and sliced avocado.

I notice you also don't have La Salsa in your poll.

Why so limited?

I think if two very very similar firms come out, one after the other. The one that came first is a lot more legitimate, and the one that followed is a cheap copycat.

I haven't been to Moe's or Baja Fresh... are they regional? Gonna be a pretty lopsided poll to put 2 national chains against 2 regionals.

Anyway, I prefer Chipotle. Overall their stuff tastes better. Qdoba is no slouch and their queso is great (something that chipotle doesn't offer), but their tortillas aren't as good and they steam them so they always stick to my teeth.

edit: It looks like there's a Moe's close to me actually. I'll probably check it out tonight :D No baja fresh though.

Of the options listed, the only one I've been to is Chioptle. Their food is not bad, But, I can get much better and bigger burrito's for less money from a place called Raul's. Raul's also has awesome taco's and fantastic Tamale's...

Fail poll, doesn't have Pancheroes.

I didn't bother including tiny chains. They only have like 50 stores in the whole country, so not many forum users would have eaten there.
