Fast emulator for the original Quake?

For an old game that requires very little mouse movement 5fps is barely playable, but still annoying. Is there any mod or Quake-specific emulator that will speed it up a bit?

Yeah... there's WinQuake, and also GLQuake, both are Win32 native. PM me if you have trouble finding these packages.

just use GLQuake...it runs fine on most modern hardware...just don't install the 3dfx files that are meant for ummm 3dfx cards...you should only need the GLQuake.exe and opengl32.dll file to make it run fine

I was about to say: "I know dere be a gosh-darn wind32 executable flotin around dem dere intraweb".

I also have the Duke 3D Win32 executable and its the POON SON! Classics should be kept alive.

And if you ever need any more info, http://ntcompatible.com/ has a butt-load of tips and alternate programs to try out.

i don't have experience with any quake emulator but i did mess with DOSBox once. dud you try the ctrl+f12 to increase the speed? it may help.
