fast dvd/cd players

I've become impatiant with these drives. every time I put in a cd or DVD I have to wait 15 seconds just for it to start spinning and autorun. when switching a hundred unlabbled cds to find data those 15 seconds start adding up to minutes and hours. I am willing to pay up to $300 on a drive that will take no more than 5 seconds. are there any?

It's not the drive, it's your operating system. Replace that, and the drives will spin up immediately.

i increased speed significantly by installing a program that limits it to 8x speed. no more waiting to spin up.. i still dont like the seek time

label and catalog those hundreds of cds. and why come in with this attitude? this is a friendly place, no reaso to be a d!ck because somebody gave you an answer you didn't like.
