Fast boots w/ UATA100 drive on IDE primary: Worth it? (A7V rev. 1.02)

Currently ma boot time is about 30-45 seconds, Windoz fully loaded. When I put this WD40gb on the ATA100 cont., Windoz is not fully loaded till about 2 mins. And that's ma 800 tbird OC'd to 1gig! I don't know why the hell it takes so long like that, but it does. I've tried 1004d-1007 Bios's, w/ b25-35 Promise Drivers. Nuttin'. Now I currently have it hooked up to the IDE primary. And I boot faster than crap through a goose. W/ the HD on the UATA primary, Sandra gave it a 15576 or 15776, can't remember which. Now it's @ 15250-ish. I don't use Sandra often, so I can't really say if that's a HUGE drop or not. But unless an overwhelming number of people here say, "no, endure your 20 year boots and leave it on the UATA100," I think I'll leave it just like this. There's quite a difference between 30 seconds and 2 F ing minutes! Anyhow, any and all feed back appreciated.
 
hmmm... I just flahsed to a modified 1003e Bios. 1003 for lower [8C!!!] idle temps, and modified to remove the Promise Bios. 1003 didn't have an option to disable the Promise Bios. Anyhow, I just re-benched ma HD in Sandra, and it gave it a 16874!!! Higher than on the ATA100 cont. w/ 1005D! Phatness.
