I need to build a brand new computer fot a friend of mine, belive it or not what he most aprecciate is a very very little time between he push the power botton and the show of windows xp desktop, i've got a budget of 2000 USD, until now i've the following:

Asus P4P800 Deluxe
Pentium 4 3.2GHz
1Gb DDR400 Supertalent memory
Ati Radeon X800 Pro
and what most matters... hard drive: a seagate barracuda 7200.7 160Gb 8mb buffer
i've consider using a RAID... what do u think about that? it is going to be good for the boot up? or just the oposite?

the other parts are a Lian Li case, an Allied PSU of 500Watts and a DVD-RW from Pioneer

I will apreciatte very much your contribution, thank you in advance!

read up on WinXP tweaking. That can make HUGE differences in your boot time

Get a Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000 rpm SATA hard drive instead of the one you're considering.
