Instead of taxing fast food why don't we start with kicking people who ate themselves into disability off the government dole?

That would imply we don't want to control our slaves.

People must be dictated to and controlled, it is the North Korean American way.

Why should I pay higher insurance premiums because someone cannot control themselves.

Because Obama and Pelosi declared that you must pay more. You voted for their party, when you are you not happy with their legislation why do you seek elsewhere to direct your anger?

Again, the basics of your argument come down to - you do not want the government taking your money and giving it to someone else who you personally feel is undeserving.

News flash - it's what our government does best. Get used to it.

Somehow I don't think NK would put up with people who ate themselves into disability. Such people would probably be sent to "reeducation camps" as enemies of the state.

It appears that liberals want the government to "nudge" people into acting how they want, even for completely trivial things, but if they don't behave they will then shower them with gifts. o_O

Why not? Let's say a 10% tax. So so a fast food meal that cost t 10 bucks will now cost 11 bucks, not exactly the end of the world for the consumer.

A bag of Cheetos that cost 4 bucks will now cost 4.04 . Less than a nickel, not gonna break the bank.

But the aggregate collection will be substantial and can be used to help fund Medicare Obamacare Etc..

Also things like cigarettes could use a 10% tax as well for funding healthcare.
People who are bad at math should not be involved in legislation.

Cigarettes already have higher taxes for that purpose (supposedly).

Major downside to this is who decides what is "healthy" and what is "unhealthy"? They change it all the time. "Eggs are bad for you!" "Oh, eggs are OK, but fats are evil!" "Oh, not fats, really, but carbs, those are evil!" etc etc etc. They can't make up their minds.

I suppose if you made sure to limit it to only the blatantly obvious stuff. But still, is the only "solution" yet another tax? Come on...

Not only that but it would basically be instituting a tax that in the end hits the poor in their pocket books more so then any other group in society. That is on top of them being privy to someone else in government getting to decide what is best for them to eat, etc.

Because those items are already taxed? Because working people are already taxed to a ridiculous amount? Because its fucking stupid to think every solution is "raise taxes!"?

Maybe we should also have a fifty cents per hour tax on people who play video games.

Additionally playing video games increases acts of violence and aggression, which are just as potentially unhealthy to society.

It also improves hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, and problem solving.

Oh wait...
