Hey guys, I have a friend who is going to be attending the International Academy of Design and Technology to study Fashion Design. I'm just wondering if any of you have had experience with this school, good or bad.

Rip. Off. Better of investing that money (i'm assuming tuition + cost of living is $30K x 4 years = $120K) to create your own line of whatever and use your creativity to shrewdly market it.

Well, investing your money to create your own line, basically starting your own business, is risky isn't it. Whereas going to school, even though it's expensive, would give her something tangible in the degree that she receives. Plus I'm sure the experience there would help her out, since coming straight from high school, how would she know where to begin to start creating her own designs?

I'm not arguing for going to school there, just bringing up possible advantages. Do you have any experience with that industry?

A "degree" from IADT is just a piece of paper that says "degree" and her name on it. Might as well be toilet paper. It all depends on what your friend's goal is. But i hear the best way to move up the ranks in the fashion industry is to suck major c0ck.

Saying "would give her something tangible in the degree that she receives" is like saying a degree from the University of Phoenix is worth something.

Well, my main question is about the school itself, not necessarily the value of the degree. I just want to see if any people have had experiences with that school.
