Fashion Question: Black shirt + brown sandals. Yay or Nay?

sandals aren't really high fashion. unless you're female and they're 3" italian sandals. in which case they'd probably match whatever else you were wearing.

As far as the color of shorts go, I don't know. I guess that opens up an entirely new can of worms. What color of shorts can you wear with black shirts? I would think if someone was to wear tan shorts s/he would also wear brown sandals.

I didn't really worry about this stuff either before. But now I'm single, and I have a lot of catching up to do. Is it alright to wear a black shirt with a brown belt? I know it is a big no no to wear a brown belt and black shoes so I'm wondering if that goes for shirts as well.

I own one belt (brown leather) and one pair of sandals (brown Dr. Martens). It really simplifies things.

my thoughts

sandals and belt need to match (having one brown and one black is no good)

and based upon that, if you are wearing brown shoes youll have to wear a brown belt. a brown belt and a black shirt would be no good.

oh and never mix black and navy blue!
