Fashion - black, white, brown or gray shirt with black slacks/suit jacket

it's not a formal event so I won't be wearing a tie. I want to look snazzy but not over dressed/uptight. Any suggestions? I think brown is the new in color. As far as accessories go, I'll be wearing either a black watch or a black bracelet with pink writing (sounds queer but it actually looks nice).

Dark brown, black (no designs) straight black pants and black (no stripes) suit jacket with hand drawn art on it (in white) - think punk rockish style yet not too grungy.

A White shirt with a black suit is considered very traditional/formal

I would do grey (or blue if you had it)

Unless it's camel or sand, then it goes fine with black.
