He's been that teams president for 15 years, if a president can hold his members hotage, then I suppose he is.

I hope he has one of the best years of his life, but unfortunately I don't think he has the talent around him.... any talent.

If he starts and finishes more that 50% of the season, I'll be :Q ThePresence.

His best years are wayyyy behind him. All he's doing now is prohibiting Aaron Rogers growth.

There was no reason to come back at all, it's just going to be another season going backwards. Should of retired, i know everyone (including him) wants to see Favre go out on top, but that's not always how careers end, that's just the way it is. Ah well, it's his choice. Too bad he has no team around him. Would of been a good season to try and develop Aaron Rodgers, since they will unlikely make the playoffs this year anyways, but who knows.

Being a Packers fan I was both happy and disappointed to hear this news. Brett Favre has been the old Packers QB since I've been old enough to watch. I have faith and loyalty in him as a player, and I know he still has an arm left in him. I really want to see him have a good season. However, I also have loyalty to the Packers as a team. Another year with Brett Favre is another year the Pack doesn't get to start rebuilding. Oh well... Let's see what they can do.

"If he starts and finishes more that 50% of the season, I'll be :Q" ???

Not sure exactly what you meant to say here, but if Brett wants to play, I have no doubt he'll be out there every game giving it his all. He may have lost some of his magic, but he hasn't lost his heart.

Yay!!! Another losing season for the Pack!

He's too old and needs to retire. Nothing like going out at the bottom huh? John Elway did it right.

Even if he's old and somewhat washed up, he's still better than 50% or more of the starting QBs in the league, and certainly better than the QB who would be starting instead.

You spelled Favre wrong...

And I wish he either would have retired or gotten cut. The packer are in a rebuilding year and they might as well start rebuilding in the QB position as well. If it took him this long to figure out if he wanted to play or not, obviously his heart isn't into it as much as it has been in previous years.

Sure I hope I'm wrong and they go to the SuperBowl but I don't see that happening.

And I still have a bda taste in my mouth from when he made comments like "What are they gonna do? Cut me?" He thinks he is more important than the team which just isn't true.

he had nothing to play with NOTHING. No WR core, no HBs, no OLine... I'm not saying he would have been the Favre of old, but he would have most certainly been better.
I'd rather lose with Favre than lose with Rogers (who will never be anyting special).

The ONLY thing that pisses me off about all this is how he pianfully dragged it out. It should have been resolved 1 month after his last snap in 2005. Not just before the draft. That was selfish of him and tainted his legacy arouynd here and in the entire league.

One of the reasons he dragged it out is because the management told him that they would be doing a rebuilding this year whether or not he came back, which probably made him mull the decision even further.
