I love Farscape. I started watching it by one of those "I'm bored and I have nothing to do so I'll watch anything that is on right now" kind of things. Took me a while to get used to the show but now I'm hooked. I can relate to John Crighton (sp?) in so many ways.
Anyways, the premise of the story is pretty basic. An American astronaut is "transported" through a wormhole or whatever and he ends up in another galaxy with aliens and the like. He ends up being rescued by a group of aliens from various backgrounds who live (more or less) on a living alien ship.
Like I said, the premise of the story is basic, but the writers keep enough going on to make the show unique and interesting. Plus, I have a thing for Giana and her blue skin...
