Farscape dead?

Hmm. Just tried to watch an episode on the scifi channel and they said series finale instead of season finale.

I really couldn't get into it, so I'm wondering - with low viewer numbers and production costs, was the show bad or is the scifi company in trouble?

I'm wondering:
> is it because the show had "jumped the shark" at some point and needs to fade away or,
> is the ad revenue not so hot for the channel and they have to cut back to mini-series specials like "children of dune" and pair them up with cheap reruns of twilight zone and tales from the crypt?

nooooo! i love that show. Farscape is like the best scifi show out there. good story and incredible characters.

I watched like the first season of Farscape and thought it was decent. Other than that there really is nothing good on the Sci Fi channel.

It was pretty good most of the time -- to me it was better written, had better characters and was less like Hollywood "product" than the first season or two of ST: Voyager. And less boring and deja-vu filled than Enterprise.

I don't watch farscape but I now farscape fans who are really into that show... yes, the show was cancelled, Stargate SG1 is getting better ratings.

Farscaped was a very bad show. I believe it originally started as a show on the networks, then jumped to Sci-Fi due to insufficient ratings.

==================
One of the very best shows on tv with sharp writing is Stargate SG1.

The ratings were consistently the highest on Showtime and now it's getting record-breaking ratings on Sci-fi (the show transferred when Showtime's contract with the show ended). The screenplay is already in the works for a motion picture with the same actors.

Kudos to writer/producer Brad Wright for being such a creative force on TV!

You can all go die, farscape seasons 2 and 3 were awsome. The shows only quirk was the tendancy to kill a charcter and bring them back in the next episode. I'd often miss a week or two, so I'd see the big deal "someone dies" episode and then two weeks later they're back and its business as normal.

The show was bad......and nerdy.
Are you sure you're in the right forums?

its been on for what, seven years? its about time!
Just finished the 4th season...

I thought series finale was tonite? i'm watching it at the moment. 🙂

What happened? I thought this was supposed to be the series finale? To be continued? Is some other network picking them up? If not, the ending sucks.

Come on, just because you don't enjoy it doesn't make it "bad."

No, I thought that the acting was pretty lame, the characters weren't too interesting, and the premise was weird (not bad I guess, but weird). Trust me, I watched a good portion of the 1st season. I *tried* to make myself like it. It had it's moments, but all in all, I feel that it's a pretty lack-luster show.

I've got to admit that the first season wasn't its best (ok, there were a few episodes of the first season that was bad), but I believe that it did get better. Plus, I enjoy the sight of Officer Sun in leather beating up aliens.

I watched a majority of the first season and thouhgt it was refreshing, but I couldn't get into it after that when the plots started gettin really whacky.

Heh i was kind of forced into the show by my "brother." He is a good foot taller than me and about 100lbs stronger than me if not more than that in most areas so yah I watch FarScape. I appreciate the humor in the show but the plots are rather odd and a few of the characters just plain annoy me like that grayish blue chick. However, it did have some great characters like Rygel hell that little guy is just plain awesome no doubt about it. Aeryn... well let's just say she is a bit predictable. Oh well it was a pretty good show overall and I liked it enough to watch it when I could but it could not compare to Stargate SG-1. Salaam to you FarScape!

More than likely, it'll be 2 years before Farscape hits the airwaves again (at least in TV form). SCiFi has the frelling broadcast rights (for 2 more years)and doesn't seem to be interested in selling them.

I dont know if I really liked the show, but I enjoyed its weirdness. That probably doesnt make sense....

Ive missed most of the shows, so hopefully they'll leave the reruns on for a while so I can finally figure out what was going on.
