Farcry help

I have an MSI k8t Neo2 mobo, athlon 64 3000 cpu, a bfg geforce 6800gt, and 1024 Mb of patriot pc-3200 ram. I am running stock speeds on everything. After 20 or 30 minutes of playing Farcry, I get static on my monitor and static from my speakers right before it reboots. I check the gpu temps and according to the BFG tech that I spoke with, the NV 40 can handle temps up to 100C. My temp was only around 60C. I am using the 71.20 drivers. Any ideas?

Have you installed the FC patch(es)?

I bet that game looks beautiful on your rig 🙂

it is great looking when I can play for longer than 20 minutes.....I have patched the game........still happens........

I had a similar problem with a 6800GT and Doom3. The game would slow down dramatically after I played for 20-30 minutes. The only thing I can think that would cause such a thing is an increase in temperature in the case. I'm not sure how that would cause your system to reboot, but it couldn't hurt to make sure all your fans are in working order and free of dust. Dusting my case helped me out quite a bit.
