Farcry 64bits

AMD page with screenshots. From what I can see the draw distance is larger and there are some differences in textures... but I don't now if it is a fair comparison by comparing equal game settings, sometimes it looks like Nvidia PS2.0vs3.0 (remenber? LOL).

What do you guys think?

The screenshots look alright (although some of them look like they're taken at kind of low settings) - but what I would be more interested in, is how much better the AMD64 version runs than the 32 bit version, if any.

They claim it has those IQ enhancements and a performance boost at the same time, it seems like it is to be released in a few weeks... we will then see how much better it is...

They could have at least turned on AA and AF for the screenshots... they look like crap.

Yep I also think they look a bit crappy, lots of jaggies and blurrines for used to AA/AF eyes...

It's too bad they can't do anything about the small textures being stretched over the large dropoffs in some of those areas... that really takes away from the realism.

Looks nice to me, since when did screen captures ever do any game credit.

Would like to see it infront of me.
Well said. I was bent last week when this came out because it said it was now available and when I logged in it wasn't :brokenheart:

wth, it says it's available but its not 😕
i want it....do i need Win64 to play it? or can i just XP home edition? Looks pretty cool, but the iq enhancements arent anything they couldnt do with 32 bit processors 😛 its all marketing.

unfortunately you do need a 64 bit os to take advantage of it, im happy to see more software is coming out for 64bit

dammit, i was all excited...there is no way im going to beta test Win64...*shudders*
they really need to make that more clear 😛

Those screen shots look like crap. The rock comparison is to laugh at. I run Far Cry @ 1280x1024 with Max details and never did any rock look like the pic of their "retail" version.

I'm a AMD fanboi, but I still have to call BS when I see it.

Dudes, where does it say that it requires 64-bit?

To me, it looks like an enhancement for those that own Athlon 64s.
