I have no idea if this software is any good, but, well... FAR is FAR

Sound Forge Audio Studio

I'd be curious to hear if anyone has any experience with this software....

I use Audacity/Nero Wave Editor/Nero Burning Rom right now......

Is this comparable/better than the above trio?

Nice deal. Sound Forge is arguably the best professional audio editing software on the market. I use it daily. And while I may be somewhat biased, I've tried many competing products, like Wavelab for instance, and definitely prefer Sound Forge.

However, Sound Forge "Audio Studio" is the "lite" version. Here's the comparison chart:

I would immediately be missing alot of the missing features, but for the non-professional, its still a very capable package, and you can't beat free.


One very nice open-source/free package that I commonly recommend to some is Audacity, available on sourceforge. Its very basic, and not exactly the easiest thing to use, but for basic mp3 usage and simple slicing and dicing, its can be quite nice.

$20 of the rebate requires proof of ownership of Magix 10 Software or Cakewalk Pyro 5. So not quite so hot, unless you have one of those two programs.

It's only FAR if you have one of the following two programs:
Magix 10 or Cakewalk Pyro 5, because the 20.00 MIR is a competitive Mfg rebate. Otherwise it's 20.00 after the 30.00 MIR.
