To all who own this masterpiece I would like to hear your experiences and opinions. For me it plays beautifully with all settings maxed except shadows which are set to low and AA which is off. The details are so damn amazing especially the water, Ive never seen it look so real in any game before. This game is kind of scary though when you're fighting those monsters but other than that I am having a great time playing this game and I feel everyone else will enjoy it just as much. Thank You!
 
I'm thinking about picking it up today. I've read that the graphics, sound and SP are something really special, but the MP leaves something to be desired. My only problem is that I'm wondering if my 9700 Pro can handle it. I can buy a 9800 XT right now if I want, but I'm trying to wait for the nForce 3 250GB and a 64 3x00. Decisions, decisions! 🙂 Does any have it and a 9700p? Does it run at high detail?

It'll run beautifully on your 9700 Pro as long as you have a good amount of RAM and a decent processor. I was running the demo perfectly on a P4 2.8, 1GB RAM, and a 9700 Pro. I had the resolution at 1280x1024 with max details.

My roommate runs it pretty well with an Athlon 1.2Ghz and a 9700 Pro, but his 256MB of RAM causes a lot stuttering.

I love it! It looks like Crytek has another sale as soon as the local EB opens. I've got a 2800 + and a gig of Mushkin lvl 2 blck (the bh5s). I'm looking forward to playing with the OICW and P90 (Stargate style). 🙂

Sick dude! Isnt it a tad bit slow at those settings? Mine stutters here and there but after some serious gfx overclocking this weekend it should play noticeably better for me, it still is very playable though at 1024x768 with max settings.

Damn I forgot all about the OICW in this game and the M249 as well. This is gonna be great and I wont cheat no matter how hard it gets, lol.
 
I'm stuck 🙁

I can't get into this place. There is about 40 guys, which is too many to fight, and I can't seem to find a path to sneak through.

I completely disagree. The atmosphere alone makes this game fun. I feel like predator out in the jungle 🙂. Not to mention the gore! Mu ha. I think some people don't like realistic type games. Even though the AI isn't perfect, but what game's AI is?

This is the first time I bought a game that recommends up to 1 Gig of memory. Things are starting to change as people speculated they would.

Ive been running the game at max detail @ 1280x960 with 2xAA/4xAF.

The game is amazing. With the "paradise" render mode I could sit on the side of a hill for hours. 😀

🙂 Me neither. With 20-hours of play and an iffy multiplayer component, I want to savor EVERY minute! 1-hour 40 minutes until EB opens... 😉

I have a 9700 PRO (2800XP pushing it) and 1GB RAM (which is very important....512 you will get some studders and disk thrashing), and the game runs sliky smooth....like a hot knife through butter.....like cream cheese.......like....., ok thats enough.

So far it's a great game but with the AI set to challenging it can be a PITA. I can only imagine what it would be like on the 2 higher settings.
Playing fine here both my 5900nu/56.64 and 9800P/CAT 4.3, all "Very High" either on 1024x768 with AA/AF or 1280x960 with only AF-both cards have some small niggling probs with this game but not enough to ruin it.
From what I've seen of FC compared to the "big 2"( HL2 and D3) it looks like FC is going too steal some of thier thunder by being released 1st.

Only "some"? For me, the demo alone stole all of the thunder... I'm waiting for Amazon to ship my copy. Hopefully soon...
 
Going to pick up a copy at lunch.

Demo sparked my interest. That is something a fps hasnt done since I played the original Half-life over Christmas break in 1998.
