Far Cry vs. HL2 and HDR

I haven't had a chance to test Far Cry with HDR and all settings Maxed out, but I heard it's a FPS hog, basically makes the game unplayable.

I'm wondering if HL2 will run better with HDR than Far Cry does w/ HDR?

Alot of cards can handle it on "low" res (1280x960 or 1024x768) like 6800 GT or 6600 GT (choppier)

If it hasn't been released yet (see your other thread), how could we know? If you'd checked benchmarks, you'd see HDR doesn't make FC unplayable, but it certainly exacts a toll on framerate (and precludes AA).

I'm guessing similar performance, as the limiting factor will probably be the halved "fillrate" that FP blending entails.
