Ok, I just got the game now since a lot of people recommend it.

I just want to make sure this is right. Starting off, seems underwater? As in a completely shaded light blue screen, not being able to see anything at all. Because that's what I get, and I can't get out.

I bought a used retail copy to save a few bucks. They forgot to mention that it's the japanese version, so attempting to read anything doesn't really help me at all. :)

Video Card settings are at default. p4 3.0 / 512mb corsair xms 3500 / GF 5950.

Just wishing to know this is normal, as I couldn't find anything on google. Thanks.

Heh, great.

Everything says farcry.

This is right after the intro video.
The majority of the screen is a light blue smog. I can look up and see a lighted area, outside. After stumbling around in this blueness, I came up to like a broken gated window where I could see trees, but couldn't get out.

I'll have to mess with my video card settings then, and snap a photo of what I'm talking about after i get home.

Blah.

You should wake up in a green/brown bunkerish sort of place. You run down a tube to a junked up room with sun coming in and eventually find your way to a ladder and outside. You definitely aren't under water...

Yeah, I have the most recent drivers from nVidia's site.

Thanks fungus, I'll try using the patch tonight.

Well, I installed the v1.1 patch.

Good news is theres no more blue fogged screens.

Bad news is it doesn't make it past the loading screen. Finishes the loading bar then freezes. Messed with VSync and AA, no luck though yet.

Might as well try installing the 1.2 patch. It was recalled by Crytech, but it still works. I'm running the 1.2 patch w/o a hitch. Since you cant even get the game running, give it a shot.

Hrm, I turned shadowing to low and unclocked my video card and now it runs.
Little choppy at first, but smoothed out.

Thanks for the help guys! Interesting game. :)

well, I finished the game last night. omg, the last level has amazingly difficult fighting sequences (about four of them), I'm not even sure how I survived any of them. best game ever, and not just the graphics - the gameplay is beyond anything else - you can practically do anything that's possible in real life.

I actually had the game for a while, but I didn't like how it ran on my 9700 pro at 1280x1024, so I stopped playing after the first level, and waited to upgrade to the new 6800gt, which took me a while to find - but it was worth it as the game runs beautifully on it with everything maxed out (at 1280x1024 resolution on my 18" lcd). good luck
