Far Cry Quick Save

Hello,

Has Ubisoft activated a quick save feature with they patch 1.1 for far cry? I haven't been able to quick save. Do they plan on releasing one with patch 1.2?

No, but you can save via the console

open the console by hitting the ` button and type \save_game

Alternatively you can set up the quicksave feature in 1.1 by following the instructions in this thread over at the official forums.

Thank you for the hint. I didn't know about the console... I received the OEM copy of teh game with my 6800 GT (evga) and there is no book or instructions.

I will try it in about 30 minutes when I get home 😛

Just note that your console saves will not display images in your save list like the built in ones do. No big deal but just throwing that out as a FYI in case you wonder what's up. And also, be careful where you console quick save because it can create glitches.

On Archives where you flood the room and float up through the hole in the ceiling, I quick saved once I was up through there and treading water in the ventilation system. Well, when I went to load that quick save, it started me there but without any water in the room. So everytime I started it, I fell all the way down to the floor below and died....lol.

The console save thing is good to know. Thats one major thing that sucks in this game.

the console saving jacks up all sorts of stuff, be prepared to loose your some or all of your hud among other weird things like what 49erinnc mentioned.
