Far Cry Movie

Has anyone actually seen this movie? Any good? I thought the movie was going to be released but hey I see on imdb here that it's already been out over 5 months! Definitely one of my all time favorite FPS titles.

Director: Uwe Boll
That should answer the question as far as whether the movie is any good 😉. The plot summary makes it sound like a very loose interpretation of the plot of Far Cry 1...

Uwe Boll...that's the scary part! 😛

Maybe I'll still try and see if I can give this a watch! This is actually horrible, such a great game and to only end up being made into a poor movie.

Yes, but when you think about the plot the game had, it's impossible to put that into a movie and make it a good one. It's great for a first person shooter, but it's totally retarded for a movie. 🙂

It was not released in the US of A (legally anyway). Only in Germany. And if the Germans hate it then I doubt very much if it will ever see a theatrical release in the states. Maybe to DVD.

How does Uwe Boll keep financing things? Who's paying him money? His films are a lot worse than those notorously low budget (and funny) Troma films, although Uwe's look like they cost a lot more to produce.

His movies are actually worse than those made by these people (look at how low budget the website is).

Yes it's out, and it's about as good as one can realistically expect, ignoring the director.
It's a film of a pretty poor game as far as story goes. It may be fun to play, but it's hardly a top notch narrative experience.

Uwe Boll may seem to make terrible movies, but really he just picks terrible things to make into movies. Games, often enough, aren't really great source material for movies. Look at all the non-Uwe Boll films out there and work out how many are any good. Even Max Payne was pretty terrible as far as a film of the game, and that had nothing to do with Boll.
Before you blame Boll, look at the fact that generally films of games suck, much like games of films suck.

But it's a pretty bad movie, because Far Cry is pretty boring as far as the story goes, and Boll is by no means a top tier director. He (unfortunately) takes games and makes films out of them, without doing enough to make the story worthwhile. His Postal adaptation was pretty much Postal in film form, but Postal had a pretty terrible story/concept too.

it is horrible. It takes place in Pacific Northwest setting with not a palm tree in sight. I wasn't expecting much but thought i would give a try since the game was so good. but once again i was sadly disappointed by a movie adaptation of a game. I wouldn't waste your bandwidth (since the only way to get it is illegally) or your time. once again a huge fail on the part of Hollywood to take game adaptations seriously. I hope that they will some day wake up and realize that gamers are a great source of revenues if they would only make decent films.

The moment I read the title ,Uwe Boll popped into mind, no wonder it was so totally neglected because his movies are usually crap.Watched 'Bloodrayne' but couldn't bear to watch it till the end.

Advice taken. I see it was never released in the US neither was it in my country, not going to waste bandwidth getting this crappy movie.
