Far Cry HDR on weed

Doesn't matter what drivers I have, I use the console command to run HDR + AA and that's it. It also doesn't matter which level of HDR I pick, still does it. I've got the 64 bit patch running on my 32 bit OS, (Currently) 6.3 Omega drivers + Tray tools & chuck patch.

So this doesn't happen to everyone?

It looks like a bug, alright, it kinda looks like it's counting the sky as a 'dark' area to be looking, so it overcompensates. I do remember that there were console commands to turn the HDR in Far Cry up/down...

Just looked it up, \r_hdrrendering x, where x is a number between 1 and 11... Generally people like 7 the best, and I think it's default.

What drivers...!?! I'm more curious about the pot he was referring to that makes him see stuff like that. j/k

This does look like a bug though, or just more evidence of Crytek's crappy HDR implementation in FarCry. IMO, HDR is an add-on to FarCry and it shows.

I get the same effect in the night levels, although it's not quite as extreme as that. I just turn off HDR altogether for the nighttime outdoor maps. It looks completely ridiculous in those, although it works pretty well in the daytime and indoor levels.

There are three parameters you can adjust to tone down the HDR effect in general. I don't remember them off the top of my head, but they help quite a bit. I wish there was a way to just disable that stupid dynamic bloom effect altogether and use only the high contrast colors/lighting that HDR provides.

Okay, tried a different driver, 6.4 w/chuck patch. Still happens. That, and for some reason my frames are crazy low now, possibly because of the CCC (more memory required and all). I'm just not that interested in the game anyway, not while I've got Oblivion and BF2 and FEAR. I was just curious if it happened to others as well, which, it looks like it does at least on the night maps. I'm not going to worry about it.

Keep in mind the "chuck patch" isn't a patch, it's an actual driver set. So you're not running 6.4 + a patch, you're using Chuck drivers + 6.4 CCC.

Yeah, but even before Oblivion hit, I still noticed it. I just didn't figure out how to post links to my clips until recently, so I had no way of actually showing anyone.
