Hey everyone!
I got my EPP Bundle from AMD a little over a week ago and everything in it is running great. Only problem is, the Far Cry disk that came with it is corrupted. I checked to make sure it was completely clean, but when I install the game it gets to about 85-90 percent and then says that a file (one of the .cab files, i think) is corrupted. I can't get past that.
Now the thing is, I already have the 5 cd version of far cry (I believe that many...), and I installed that one on my pc. I am building my friend a pc for gaming, and was going to give him this dvd version from the purchase program, since I don't have any use for it really (that and I'm selling him an athlon 2500+ and cheap DFI mobo for 100 bucks... same price as I got it for a couple of months ago). When I tried to install the EPP Far Cry, it was on my computer with the Athlon 64 processor, so I know it's not just because it has to specifically be with this computer or anything.
My question is: Do you think I should contact AMD/Tiger Direct and try to get a replacement Far Cry disk sent to me, or do you think that I should install my cd version on his computer when I build it, and use the cd key from the dvd instead of mine?
If y'all think that I should install with the cd version and use the dvd version's key, how would I go about doing this? It seems to me that the game has the cd-key already built into it, because when I installed my cd version, it NEVER prompted me to enter a cd-key. Then again I haven't played multiplayer on it yet either... is that when you'd need to put the cd-key in? I really don't know about that and don't know what would be better to do, so I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
Thanks everyone!
