I just got an Athlon 64, MB and memory. I did a fresh install of windows XP pro. I went to apply the Far Cry 64 bit patch and got the following error.

"This is an AMD64 exclusive 64 bit setup"!

Before trying the 64 bit patch I installed all the latest patches for Far Cry.

Can anyone tell me how to get past this error?

Thanks

Ok cool, I figured that might be the issue. I registered for a 180 day trial with MS and downloaded Win XP Pro 64bit. Can I run a dual boot?

Thanks

If you just want to install the content and don't care about any performance boost, there's a way to install it without installing winxp 64. I don't remember offhand unfortunately, but someone on the forums (or google) is bound to know.

QFT

dug knows!

If you run an admin install of the installer ( or some such) then you can specify where you want it to put all the files it uses. THen you can just replace the ones in your farcry folder with those.

It's better explained here:

PM dug777 if you need more help, but he's covered it in the thread.
