Does anyone know if Far Cry 5 will use a new engine? because 3.4 and Primal were all very single thread performance based with diminishing fps due to CPU limitations per title
Try 144hz dudeI never had any FPS issues with any of the Far Cry games.
Well you won't no what ur missing if u don't get one, my advice is don't because 60 fps makes me want to cry nowI never got around to getting a 144hz monitor. My buddy claims the frame rate is "silky smooth" but I'm perfectly happy with my "buttery smooth" gameplay at 60hz.
Yes it can I play at 144hz on fallout 4 lolFallout 4 cant go any higher than 60 frames per second and so long as it stays at 60 frames per second, it looks freakin fine.

And you are perfectly fine with all those small objects shooting around when you touch them and killing you when they bounce back?
Yeah, bullshit. I dont think so.
sorry do you have a 144hz monitor ? nopeAnd you are perfectly fine with all those small objects shooting around when you touch them and killing you when they bounce back?

Bethesda patched the game for 144hz support. cheers.
Doubt Ubisoft would put money towards a new engine. It's a pretty steep investment, especially for a series that releases a game every few years.
If anything they would just leverage UE4 or CryEngine if they wanted to be more modern, but like you said it's a lot of money and work to convert to a new engine. I'm sure what they have is easy for them to work with and they know pretty well. This cuts down on development time.
The current Far Cry Engine (Dunia) is actually a fork of CryEngine.
