I guess I'm getting old because even that doesn't look entertaining. *Sigh* It might be time for me to move on from gaming soon :(

Its not u, its the games nowday ... they SUCK, doesnt matter how good the graphics are or story..

I started playing games when i was a kid...
Started with Team fortress classic, Quake and Conter-Strike and still playing them sometimes...
There was no storyline, no good graphics, no CGI crap ...
and they was the best that happened in gaming, even in my life... god i miss lan parties and the fun i had.

I think it'll be good, at least it looks much better than the last one.

Too bad Ubisoft is putting it out so I'll never get to play it.

Looks about right. The inevitable extension of the series. Better graphics, better story, but the same game that tries to cover everything from fighting bad guys to animals to mutants to aliens from outer space all from a first person perspective which is much harder to do than a third person. More proof if you ask me Hollywood will soon own AAA video games lock, stock, and barrel.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really liked FarCry2. The idea was fantastic, but the execution fell short in a lot of ways.

Still more interesting than 90% of the FPS single-player campaigns out there, IMO.

No HUD, no crosshairs, no breaking from first-person perspective (I hate FPSs that go to 3rd person for driving....lame as hell).....they were on the right track. I'm disappointed they're leaving the African environment.....I've seen enough tropical islands already.

problem with Far Cry 2 is it felt like a driving simulator at times. Way too much down time.

I took the bus for most of the first map and the boat for the second. Pretty fun!

Oh MistaFreeze. Old ? You have no idea what old is.... I saw your other post about gaming. Time for you to give it up son and head to the retirement home if you feel old at your age.

You are still a pup :p

I'm actually pretty excited... this might very possibly be a pre-order for me.

Looks like they learned all their mistakes from Far Cry 2. The island is much more large and colorful this time, and there's a ton more stuff to do. Missions are more interesting than "Drive from point A to point B, kill person X, repeat". And no more respawning enemies? Thank god.

Looks good. Can't wait. Totally looks like they learned some lessons on Far Cry 2 (which I liked) and realize the Far Cry name is rooted in the tropics.

Without Crytek's involvement (they did FarCry1), this looks like the closest thing to a true Far Cry 1 sequel that we can hope to get.

That makes no sense at all. So if a game has the best graphics you've ever seen and best story you've ever experienced, it still sucks? What other forms of pleasure must it provide for it to not suck?

Well-designed gameplay and game mechanics?

What game have you come across that had great graphics and a great story line but lacked so severly in those areas that your overall impression of the game is that it sucked?

what little actual game play was in that, it did not stike me as worth getting (definitly not pre order or at local asking prices).

None I can think of, I'm just saying graphics and story aren't the meat and potatoes of a good game. (They certainly help though.)

I'm not the guy you were originally replying to, so I don't know how he thinks.

What is the DRM situation on this release? Being Ubisoft I assume the absolutely worst possible but I may as well at least ask.

Well at least it looks more like Far Cry (which I loved) than Far Cry 2 (which I despised) Not going to be a pre-order or even a Day 0 purchase for me, but I'll consider it after reading some PLAYER reviews.

FarCry2 was fun as well. Involved a little too much of driving around though which kinda put me off. Loved the graphics though. You could literally feel the sun striking you.

I didn't mind the driving in FC2. What I hated was how many times you had to repeat the EXACT same mission over, and over and over again. It's like the wrote a small amount of code, got lazy and said "screw it, lets just copy and paste this a dozen times"

Just finished FC1 for like the dozenth time. Hadn't played in a while, it was way intense after getting accustom to FC2.

Loved FC1, FC2, and the first half of Crysis1, FC3 will be a must have.

IDK about the next Crysis, I'll most likely get Crysis3 as well but I don't really enjoy fighting those squid headed aliens so much. That stuff is just a little too far out.

I didn't like FC2 until I got some proper weapons and learned proper techniques for the game.

One of the things I liked about FC1 was that your binocular/radar advantage is explained by everyone being "chipped".

Anyhow looking forward to FC3, and playing on the new system...
