I won't play it unless it has graphics that look like real life and 3D without the need for glasses.
My SSDs are to slow to play such a game anyway.

Let's hope on the release of Far Cry 3 they have a better story and better UI, and it's released without known major problems that never get fixed.

FarCry2 was ass. Don't give a shit about another sequel if it's by the same people.

Drive Cry 3 coming soon.

Start of game: Get into vehicle

Mid-Game: Drive

End-Game: You've now driven 5000 miles and had to stop 1000 times at enemy camps, you win.

Crytek no longer owns the rights to far cry which is why ubisoft montreal is giving us complete shit. Far Cry 2 could have been so awesome if they had only done something with the enemy AI spawns. If they had suspended respawns while you're current mission was active the game would have been amazing. Instead of having to clear the same checkpoints over and over again.

This is what ruiend it for me, clearing a checkpoint and another, and another then running down the road to the objective, clearing it and getting what you were after then having to go back and clear them all again less than 10 min after you did it last time. Thats actually why i just ended up cheating, the game was a huge gameplay fail but the graphics were great.

If it's a proper sequel to the original FarCry then I'll keep an eye on it without expecting too much, but if it's just another FarCry 2 with prettier graphics and different weapons I'll just pass.

I can't imagine why anyone would care.

Well, the first one kicked much ass and I played thru it twice. While not as good I really really liked the 2nd one. I would almost definitely pre-order the 3rd, and I've never pre-ordered a game in my life.

Crysis wasn't so much of a better game either. There was noticeable enemy spawns in the game as well. Trigger an alarm and look on your radar, you will be surrounded by enemy units who appear out of nowhere. From the trees maybe?

Back to the topic, looking forward to Far Cry 3. I hope they will select a different location this time.

I really enjoyed the second one, and I thought the graphics were better than those in Crysis. The game had far less shader aliasing and looked far more pleasant as a result. Also overall texture quality was much better.

Indeed. I love shooters and did not get any more than like 12% into this game. That, and I found it kind of "arcade like" if that's how I can explain it. Guys popping up and down from rocks or back and forth behind trees but not very fluid - very patterned or robotic or something.

And IMO, it looked great. Just make it a Quake 4 shooter if you can't get the movements or spawning right...

The graphics and the engine looked very nice. It was the UI, story, and idiot spawning that made me regret my $5 purchase. Ran across an interview with the head guy in charge of the project, and apparantly he was told by his QA people that there was a problem with the spawning, but it 'came too late' in the project, so they just couldn't delay to fix it. Not even in patches either. Bozo company.

The Avatar game uses the same engine, and in the demo for that the world looked very good indeed.

Ha I liked FC2. Guess I'm the only one, but my love for the Dunia engine and the whole blood diamond angle was of a slightly higher magnitude than my hatred for the soul sucking driving. Looking forward to a revamped Dunia.

Meh, I still haven't played the first one. Too many inane shooters out there anyways.

Far Cry 3 is set in Africa again, but with an even larger world

Yeah, because the world being too small was the problem with FC2...

The implementation of FC2 was unfortunate IMO because I actually liked a lot of the combat encounters, the use of fire, and even the gun wear mechanic; but it got boring because of the excessive driving and constantly re-spawning enemies.

I guess I didn't notice enemy spawns in my 10 playthroughs of crysis. When you set off an alarm the majority of the time you can see a jeep full of guys drive up to check it out. That's where the enemies appear from.

No one gives crysis any credit because they say it's boring. Well I guarantee that those people spent the whole game using the cloaking power and sneaking around. That got tedious quick then I decided to play through the game on delta without using the cloak. Whole different game, and so much better. Stealth game mechanics have a habit of breaking the AI. Try crysis with no stealth and see if you like it more.
