there's a difference between the repop in fc2 and what they want in fc3. if you can't figure that out based on the posts, then you're retarded.

Not sure how I stand on the issue at this point. It's not hard to take over a base so wouldn't really be that big of a deal. also the patrols aren't that big of a deal either...

losing a fast travel point would really suck though.

Yeah basically changing the style of play this sounds more like downloaded content plus patch than just a quick fix. It's a game redesign that may not happen for a while.

I hate how in ac3 you can fast travel to a certain place then you trek all the way to the waypoint on foot or by horse. In the other versions it didn't seem like I was doing so much walking or swimming.

By the time I finish both these games I probably won't want to replay.

This game makes stealth killing so satisfying. Nothing like dropping down on someone's head with a knife, and quickly dragging them away so nobody notices.

I've played very few FPS where it's so much fun figuring out how you're going to take down a group of NPC's.

I also like how the NPC's have some personality. When they're alarmed, some of them go running around like mad looking for you, while some of the others take cover. The last outpost I tried to take down, they actually split and flanked wide around both sides.

I wish they would have carried over some of the FC2 behaviors though, like crawling behind cover when injured, and helping each other out.

Hidden for spoilers
I thought Brody and Vaas were supposed to be the same person. They threw hints of a double personality thing out there making me suspect that Brody was somehow Vaas, but it never panned out that way. Even during the fight with Vaas, he said "you are me and I am you". Anyone else confused by this? It even shows on the menu displays as a split screen, like a split personality theme. I was expecting Brody to end up realizing he was actually doing the things that he thought his imaginary villain "Vaas" was doing. Maybe if at the end I would have chose to slit her throat instead of save her things would have been different? Did anyone here slit her throat? If so, what was the ending like?

nope played through 2 times now and nope never even close did i ever come to that deduction as it is flat impossible and does not make sense at all.
you are a kidnapped 20 something that has his family members killed by a psycho pirate scumbag.. you join the resistance and liberate the islands from said scumbags.. nothing more nothing less.

Maybe I was picking up on cues aimed toward how Jason changes throughout the game. Warning! END GAME SPOILERS AHEAD.
Also, I assume you tried both endings? I wonder if I can somehow just replay the ending without going through the whole game again. So what happens when you slit her throat?!

EDIT: Also, there is a customizable HUD patch coming incase you didn't already know.

1. Use the skill points. You will get plenty as the game goes on. No need to hoard them. One way or another you essentially get them all by the end of the game.

2. You haven't met citra yet? You have a ways to go young jedi.

By the end of the game I had unlocked every single skill. No need to have a "build." Just pick the skills you find interesting.

I was doing so much of the side stuff at the beginning of the game that I needed to go do story missions in order to unlock more skills. I had like 3 unused skill points and nowhere to put them.

Same thing here. I was having too much fun finding towers, taking bases, crafting, and unlocking the signature weapons. I'm at Citra as well and have like 16 unused points. :D

I was hoping someone would ask about the stuttering issue. :(

Been playing and loving the game, even with the micro-stuttering, but it is starting to bug the hell out of me at this point. Put maxFPS="30" in the config, and it seems to help a bit, but my frames per second never drop at all, yet it feels like every other frame is missing when I'm turning or driving.

I'm not even bothering playing the game right now, solely because of the micro-stutter. My OCD can't take it.

You say putting the maxFPS to 30 helps a little; what happens if you put it at 60? I haven't tried this tweak yet but I might do it later tonight and see how it runs.

That's strange. You and I have pretty much the exact same system except for the CPU. I have no micro-stutter issues.

I realize the FX-8350's gaming performance is a bit slower than the i5-2500k, but that only really matters in CPU bound games, and Far Cry 3 is certainly not CPU bound. I wonder what other factors play into having micro-stutter (the non multi-GPU kind)?

Are you sure you don't have it, and you're not just more tolerant of it? I'm really picky about my graphics, and my buddies poke fun at me because I'll show them micro-stuttery games on my PC and yet they see nothing wrong. It's a subtle effect that probably most of your average gamers don't notice. I have a hard time accepting it though.

He can't spend them if he hasn't met Citra yet - the second batch of skills unlocks after that mission, so he'd have nowhere to spend them.

you get enough points to 100% get all skills..
dont save them they are all helpful and many are GATED if you dont use them you cannot go any further.

I have no stutter at all..
DX11 no stutter using my Asus g75 VW with a 670M

smooth as glass.

I'm running a 2700K + gtx570
No stutter at all on Ultra settings @ 1920x1200
Only issue is averaging 30 FPS and not wanting to get a better card until the HD8K and GTX7K series comes out

I'm extremely picky about my framerate, and will get rid of eye candy until a game feels "smooth" to me. FPS is more important to me than Ultra level graphics and any level of micro-stuttering would bother me. I've not played some games due to random stutters (Deus Ex Human Revolution comes to mind) until the issue was fixed.

FC3 has good graphics, but like someone else pointed out (forgot who it was) something about these graphics kind of hurt my eyes and causes me to strain. There is a sort of grainy look to them. FC2 has crisp, super clear graphics that were very easy to distinguish. Again, FC3 looks good but there is something going on there.

I've been on every forum I could find for the stuttering issue, and even searched Youtube posts.

It seems like AMD users can fix their issue, if they have one at all, with small fixes like setting GPU buffered frames to 1. Most people seem to be Nividia users, like me that have tried many things, and simply cannot get rid of the stutter.

It does not stutter at all when the camera flies around when you take a radio tower, or when the view pans during a cutscene... only when you move your view/aim. Same exact stutter looking at the ground and some grass while slowly moving your aim, as you get looking at highly complex areas full of vegetation and buildings while you are sprinting and looking around.

Frame rates do not dip at all when it stutters; after setting maxFPS to 30, I never see it drop at all. Get the same exact thing regardless of settings - Ultra runs exactly the same as Low.

I've tried :
Ultra to low and all combinations in between.
Vsync settings in-game, and adaptive in the Nvidia control panel
Triple buffering on/off in the Nvidia panel
Combinations of all the other video options (AA, Vegetation settings, etc)
Editing the config file to limit frames
Different resolutions
Setting max frames to my monitors refresh rate
Running windowed vs fullscreen
DX9 and DX11 (no stutter difference at all)
Disabling Steam/Uplay overlays
