If you just start the game, it should download and apply the patch automatically. Or you can download it manually from here: NA Ubi Patch Link

It's quite small, only around 60 MB.

Here's the list of advertised changes:

================================================================================

Far Cry®2 v1.03 Update

================================================================================

If you had problems applying the 1st patch (1.01), please apply this cumulative patch.

STEAM users: Please wait until the patch is available through Steam.

General changes

- A new server software has been created. Please consult the FC2ServerLauncher_ReadMe.txt file in the \bin folder for further documentation.
- Fixed a bug with the "Jackal tapes" accounting

Multiplayer changes

- Made most weapons slightly more accurate
- Slightly extended length of the short-range damage category for most weapons
- Reduced the damage of all sniper weapons
- Reduced the damage of the MGL-140 grenades
- Reduced the damage of the M79 grenades
- Reduced the damage of the IED
- Reduced damage stim of the flamethrower by 1 step
- Added hardcore mode in the Advanced Options page. Weapons will do more damage and enemy names will be hidden after the invincibility period.
- Players are now displayed by XP order in the scoreboard.
- Allow players to rejoin the host after a ranked match.
- Allow the minimum player settings to be changed from the lobby.
- Allow force launch in ranked match.
- Fixed an issue with the launch map button which was displayed too low on some SDTV (480i - 4:3).
- Fixed a crash in menu browser when returning to a parent menu page while searching for a match.
- Fixed initial rank and XP replication.
- Limit to one class reset per game.
- Now possible to play a map from the downloadable content with the dedicated server.
- Now possible to include an approved custom map in ranked games.
- Added a quick search option for ranked approved custom maps.
- Fix IED (improvise explosive devices) destruction

- Review game start conditions, there will be only 2 start conditions
- No vote in progress
- At least the minimum player required number must be ready

Lots of expected changes (single player fixes, etc) are not listed here, but then again, neither is the confirmed removal of the disc check (My hunch is that this was a mistake, and it could be "fixed" in the next patch).

Played a few rounds in hardcore mode yesterday. It was alot more believable, and less frustrating to kill someone in under 10 rounds from my SAW...:)
I'd say the weapons were a bit more effective than those in vanilla BF2, probably on par with those in COD4 (as to how many shots it takes to kill someone).

Also, they released a linux version of the dedicated server: NA Ubi Linux Server

Nah. If you hated it before, you probably still hate it now.

There were no game-changers in this patch, like being allowed to join ranked MP games in progress, or changing the rules for checkpoint respawning in the SP game.

Just looks like minor tweakage, mostly on the MP side.

I have a feeling they MUST have changed more than they listed in the readme above. It may take a while before the community sniffs all the changes out.

Here are the SP fixes:

Fix some random crash occurring during specific Malaria attacks

Fix health damage not following the difficulty level when switching difficulty during player's walkthrough

Fix some camera issue when using a mortar near a rock
I can confirm the disc check is gone - the developer gets a thumbs up from me.

So I finished FC2 about 2 weeks ago (been absorbed by Prototype since then). I have to say I enjoyed it a fair bit, despite some minor quibbles. I find myself thinking back to it and remembering it rather fondly.

Pros
- huge open world
- rock solid stability
- beautiful visuals, but could have been more varied
- immersive gameplay
- LONG singleplayer, good number of side missions

Cons
- repetetive mission types
- bad guys respawning at every x-roads even after you clear it out
- excessive travel time (bus stations significantly reduced this problem)
- essentially non-existent story; no memorable NPCs
- driving mechanics kinda weak

I'm a sucker for non-linear FPSs. Overall I'd say 7.5/10. I can however see how some would be bored after 5 hours. Not much in the way of impressive "wow" moments. Still, I'll be likely to pick up FC3 after a price-drop, and if reception indicates it's markedly better than FC2, perhaps right away.
