far cry 1.3 patch?

The game will install fine (dvd version) but the 1.3 patch refuses to work. I've downloaded 4 1.3 patches from 4 different sites, all the same errors...

Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk.
Please check that the proper disk is inserted or specify a new path.
Unable to locate file C:\DOCUME~1\Bryan\LOCALS~1\Temp\_isA84\Far Cry (Patch 1.3).msi.

Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Far Cry (patch 1.3). Windows installer cannot continue.

Error 1603 Fatal Error during installation.
Consult windows installer Help (msi.chm) or MSDN for more info

you need the 74.1mb 1.3 patch to install the 8mb 1.31 patch.

you don't need 1.31 at all - exccept for multi . . . v1.3 is fine.

Have you tried? . . . UNinstalling FC, defragging your HD, REinstallng FC and THEN applying 1.3.

thats why i want the 1.3 patch, so i can install 1.31 and play online. i'm defragging my drive and reinstalling like you said...

defraging/reinstalling didn't do anything. same errors. and i saw no auto-update thing in the multiplayer menu, are you sure you're talking about far cry?

edit: you did UNinstall the game - defrag the HD, then reinstall the game and apply the patch in that order?

Happened to me when I chose US english instead of UK english (I have UK). I just un-installed the patch and chose the correct language.
