Well, I'm thinking about the Hauppauge WinTV-HD high definition TV tuner card. I'm wondering if anyone is using this card and actually watching HD signals. Can you compare the visual quality to that of an HDTV displaying the same signal? Any card out there better than the Hauppauge??

The Happaugue card down-converts everything to 480P: Nice, but not "really" HD.

Check out AVSforum (www.avsforum.com), they have a pretty good HTPC section, including preferred video cards, DVD, etc.

Good Luck

I too would like to know which card to get. I'm going to buy a DLP projector and get an HD card. I guess I'll head over there and see what people like. LMK if you find out anything interesting.

That is only true for the WinTV-D card. The WinTV-HD is truely high definition.

I've seen video captures from HD feeds and they are amazing. The only thing stopping me from getting one of these cards is price(I need to save money for college).

After you pick the right card check out Antenna Web
