Fantasy football trade offer

Lifer
Alright, here is the deal:

I get:

Corey Dillon
Kevin Jones
Todd Heap

He gets:

Eric Moulds
Rudi Johnson

This league requires 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/TE, 1K and 1D. Heap would be a good third receiver option for me.

The rest of my WRs are:

M. Harrison
P. Price
J. McCareins
J. Shockey
Reggie Williams

I think my WRs would weaken just a bit by this deal, but I would then my RBs would be:

McAllister
Dillon
K. Jones

I guess I am just concerned that Rudi Johnson is going to have a monster season in Cincy. Help! 😀

Exactly what I am afraid of. 😀

I think Dillon's value is diminished in NE. They tend to get cute with their O too much. I really like K. Jones, but I am a Lions fan and I don't know how much of me liking him is due to the fact that he plays for Detroit. He could really break out, considering their other options SUCK.

Hard to tell. Rudi is shooting for 1500 yards this year, which he seems to be capable of doing. Yet, he's yet to be field hardened. Was last year a fluke? Maybe, but we don't know yet. And Dillon is a great running back, but how well will he do in the Pats offense? Who knows.

I say go for it, I probably would.

EDIT: Wait, I see you already have Shockey, who says he's ready to go for the first game of the season. Heap will not be a big addition to your team, as you can't take the time for a TE controversy on your fantasy team, it's not worth it. Consider making the trade, then trading Jones and Heap for another big WR, if you're concerned about your receiving core. With so few good TE's in the league who can up decent numbers for a fantasy team (Gonzalez, Shockey, Heap, Winslow maybe), Heap should be great trade value for someone in your league.

Or, consider trading Shockey over Heap, as Shockey has more "star" value. More people know him than they do Heap, and Heap can be a better TE than Shockey at times.

My league doesn't have a dedicated TE position. It is a flex TE/WR, which diminishes the value of Heap/Shockey.

No way. The two players you're offering are better than all 3 of his, and since you're already set at TE, you don't need Heap although he's a quality guy at his position.

And no dedicated TE position?! This is a no-brainer.

Do the trade:

McAllister
Dillion

Harrison
Price
McCariens/Shockey

No trade:
McAllister
Rudi Johnson

Harrison
Moulds
Price/McCariens/Shockey

You'd be trading two starters for one starter and two bench players. The only hope would be for Kevin Jones to really take off, but then you'd have to bench Dillon to get in the starting lineup. Doesn't make sense, stick with what you got.

Besides R. Johnson, I have:

D. McAllister
T. Jones
S. Jackson
O. Smith
G. Jones

Jackson is not a starter
Smith is not a starter
Jones is not a stater
So you only have 2 starting RBs.

Well, I would put it this way. What would happen if one of your main RB goes down ?? Or on a bye week ??
You can't flex a RB position.

So you lose Moulds but the drop off is not that bad considering you have McCareins, Williams, Shockey, Heap.....all are starters.
If you lose one of your main RB, your drop off is a non-starting RB.

You chose. I would make that trade if it was me. Unless you have starting RBs in the waiver wire sitting unclaimed.
