Point per reception league:

I have:

RB: Kevin Jones, Deuce McAllister, Marcel Shipp, Tatum Bell
WR/TE (flex, can start any 3): Hines Ward, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Antonio Gates. Jason Whitten, Keary Colbert

I've been offerred Domanick Davis and Laverneous Coles for Hines Ward and Marcel Shipp.

Way I see it, my RBs are set, as Davis is a feature back and can cover Jones' slump/schedule. However, Ward is much better then Coles... But coles has good upside now that Vinny is in town, as last year Vinny had a pretty live arm and Keyshawn had a decent season with Vinny at the helm. I'm thinking Coles won't outpoint Ward, but he'll be steady.

So, any thoughts? I'm leaning towards no, but RBs are a valuable commodity, Ward's on pace for a good year, and Coles may be a question mark now.

Even with Vinny back, I'm not sure I'm sold on Coles improving a lot. The Jets O line sucks, Vinny's a sitting duck if they can't get some yards from Martin. Same thing with Davis: terrible O line, offense going nowhere. He will put up points with a point per reception though...

I'm assuming you start 3 backs?

So your starting lineup now is Deuce, Kevin Jones, Marcel Shipp with Hines Ward, Houshman and Gates.

Make the trade and it's: Deuce, Domanick Davis, Kevin Jones with Coles Houshman and Gates.

* Artose Pinner is stealing time from Kevin Jones.
* Domanick Davis is very mediocre, but still better than Marcel Shipp.
* Hines Ward is on a run-first club, but is their only receiving threat.
(no, I do not consider Randel El a threat).
* Hines Ward has some type of injury - but not sure how serious it is.
* Coles is on a team that sucks, and that apparently can't run anymore -- they should be passing a lot to catch up.

Would I make the trade? Yes, especially if Ward's injury looks to be more than a ding.

I start 2 RBs 3 WRs or TEs (flex receivers basically)

Well apparently:

-Ward left practice today after tweaking the hamstring again. I've been burned by bad hamstrings (Santana Moss last year) and they seem to nag some guys. I thought Ward would be healthy and now he's not.
-Jones was apparently sufferring from cramps, and Bryson was put in for blocking on the last drive. Jones is a Pro Bowler, and Mooch should be going back to him (hopefully)
-Looking at Keyshawn-Vinny last year, KJ ended up with 70 catches, 980 yds and 6 scores. I'm thinking Coles can possibly match that... He's a solid #1 and the Jets are passing to him a fair amount (last game with Bollinger doesn't count IMO)
-Davis, even if he only gets 100 yards, is bound to get 50-60 catches and hopefully 10 scores. Even if Jones wakes up, in a perfect world I can move him or Jones for a WR... BUt that's sacrificing short term for long term, and I'm 2-2. But tied for division lead (crappy division)
