This upcoming week in the NFL has two of my four receivers on bye weeks plus my one and only tight end. That leaves me with a wide reciver slot to fill along with the TE slot. I'm not worried so much about the TE slot because unless you have Tony Gonzalez that spot doesn't produce too many points. I do however want to fill the temporary void in the WR slot, at least just for this week.

I have 2 defenses, Philly and Denver, with Denver being expendible. I also have 3 QB's: Brooks, Vick, and Plummer, with Plummer being the most expendible.

These are the top 22 available receivers in my league along with their team and next weeks opponent:

Coles, Laveranues (WR-NYJ) | Jacksonville
Driver, Donald (WR-GB) | Carolina
Morton, Johnnie (WR-KC) | Miami
Terrell, David (WR-Chi) | Buffalo
Warrick, Peter (WR-Cin) | Tampa Bay
Crowell, Germane (WR-Det) | New Orleans
Patten, David (WR-NE) | San Diego
Hakim, Az-Zahir (WR-Det) | New Orleans
Robinson, Koren (WR-Sea) | Minnesota
Moss, Santana (WR-NYJ) | Jacksonville
Johnson, Chad (WR-Cin) | Tampa Bay
Johnson, Patrick (WR-Jac) | New York Jets
Jurevicius, Joe (WR-TB) | Cinicinatti
Bradford, Corey (WR-Hou) | Philadelphia
Hayes, Donald (WR-NE) | San Diego
Sanders, Frank (WR-Ari) | New York Giants
Davis, Andre' (WR-Cle) | Pittsburgh
Kennison, Eddie (WR-KC) | Miami
Reed, Josh (WR-Buf) | Chicago
Dwight, Tim (WR-SD) | New England
Scott, Darnay (WR-Dal) | St. Louis
Bates, D'Wayne (WR-Min) | Seattle

Those I'm most serious about taking are:

Donald Driver - GB vs Carolina
Patrick Johnson - Jac vs NYJ
Josh Reed - Buf vs Chi
David Terrell - Chi vs Buf

What do you guys think?

Sorry about that...I say Plummer. Unless someone in your league is just devoid of QB he should be there if you want him again but with Brooks and Vick (barring injury) I dout you will.

I agree. Plummer's not going to do much for ya.

I agree with the group, dump Plummer. You should post the TE's not taken in your league too. Even if you only get 1 point, it's better than nothing.

I agree with the rest of them...dump Plummer. You already have a top QB in Brooks, and an excellent backup QB in Vick.

As far as WR's, Coles and Morton are decent pickups, but neither consistenly provide many points, (As with the rest of this list). Josh Reed has looked really good so far. Also, take a look into Deion Branch, WR for NE, he's put up excellent numbers in the three weeks sor far. This past week was the first game he didn't find the end zone, but had 195 returning yards...:)

In order:

Morton
Coles
Reed(ONLY if this is a fairly deep league.. as he is a #3 WR on Buffalo)

I wouldn't even consider most of the other guys listed.

Pick up a TE though... what if you end up losing by 1 or 2 pts? You'll wish you had one.

I don't know what most of these guys are smoking, but Morton and Coles aren't going to get you anything. Although he's the "#1 receiver" in KC, Morton hasn't done a single damn thing all year. It's the Priest Holmes show in KC now. Coles is part of a struggling Jets Offense. Vinny has COMPLETELY lost his confidence in throwing downfield and I wouldn't pick up any receiver from that team.

I'm surprised nobody's picked up Donald Driver from your league. Although he's penciled in as the #2 receiver behind Glenn, he's CLEARLY Favre's favorite target, racking up 223 yards and 2 TDs in the last 3 games. Compare this to Morton's 63 yards and 0 TDs in the past 3 games.

The other WR I would consider is Andre Davis. So far, he's managed to score at least 1 TD every game (2 TDs yesterday). That should be enough reason to pick him up.

As for who to drop, I would just drop Plummer.

I was thinking Driver all along....but I think Reed might also be a nice pickup. I think that Carolina's defense isn't as good as Chicago so that makes Driver a better pickup for this upcoming week.

.....and I'm kicking myself for STARTING VICK OVER BROOKS!!!!!!

I thought Chicago's D would contain Brooks and Vick would have a field day with Cincinatti's D!

Brooks scored 29 fantasy points to Vicks 17.
I'm currently beating this weeks opponent by 3 points with Issac Bruce still waiting to play for him, looks like my first loss of the year. :(

I scored 81 points this week...with my regular starters I would have scored 97....damn.

drop plummer
pick up donald driver

coles and morton may be number one receivers but they've done jack so far. they may pan out in the long term, but since next week's start figures heavily into this decision, why not pick up someone who's productive now and also has long term value. driver has played well and led the packers in receiving this past weekend. favre is throwing well and with the packers d looking like a sieve this season, shootouts are inevitable. i think john fox's carolina d is underrated but i think driver will produce again.

Donald Driver!!!

I can't believe he's still there. Hell, I would keep him, not just for this upcoming week. With a QB like Brett Favre, Donald Driver is going to have A LOT of catches. THE GB Defense is doing absolutely horrible (jeez, look how many points DETROIT scored on them) so the GB offense is always on the field, and hence the high scoring games always (which means lots of catches/yards for teh wide recievers). Glenn is #1 reciever yeah, but hes just more of the deep threat while Donald Driver gets the majority of the catches.
