Fantasy Baseballers - trade help

I am currently leading a 16 team 5x5 roto league by approx 13 points. Should I give up Kazmir for Utley? I currently have Iguchi and Barfield at 2B. C Burke who was a wire pickup is also eligble there.

Things to consider: Clemens and Anthony Reyes are eligble free agents this week and I will be making a bid for both whether or not this trade goes through. I'm going to have to part ways with F Cordero although I think he's ultimately going to wind up as their closer.

Well, that's a pretty good trade in essense, but in your case, your starting pitching is spotty as it is. With the way Kazmir has pitched, I think you would be wise to hang on to him. However, on the flip side, Kazmir is currently over-valued, and wont be giving you the same stats vs the yankees and the sox when the time comes. Utley is an elite player. It's a really tough call. I personally have a rule not to make any trades in fantasy baseball until July first unless there's a great need or opportunity (since you're in first place, clearly not).

well it looks like you could use some HR help which he will provide, but Kazmir is the real deal. There has been a lot of talk about verlander recently and Myers just got arrested for hitting hit wife, so you might want to sit tight. Kazmir isnt likely to go down in value. I would hold off for a bit on it.

Coco Cordero is done as the closer. Otsuka is doing really well and there is no reason for him not to keep the job.

No doubt getting Utley for Kaz is more than fair for you, but Iguchi is a very good 2b so the only reason you'd make this trade is just to make it. You're taking a huge bite out of your pitching while adding a little bit to your offense.

I'm second in HR. a few weeks back i was leading in every offensive category and gained a lot of ground with the pitching. my league pays out for top monthly performers and i dominated last month.

As far as Coco goes, I not quite sure they're done with him yet. A few weeks back they brought him in to close twice in a row. He gets paid top dollar to close, therefore, I think they'll eventually get back to him as a closer. Just not in the immediate future.

yes, but what makes this deal feasible is the fact that i could make a bid for either clemens or anthony reyes to fill the empty spot. yes, i'd lose out on Kaz but i'd still be able to fill the spot decently. As i said before, i plan to bid regardless of whether or not this trade goes through. I'm actually expecting to get reyes over clemens. i'm just not willing to spend $100 FAAB on clemens this season.

Alright, the guy just said that it would be very, very difficult for him to even consider moving Utley at this point. So, giving up more than Kazmir is out of the question. Thanks for the suggestions.
