I'm in first place in all offensive cats except SB, which don't come into play in this potential trade. I'm middle of the road in most Pitching cats.

Would you do this trade?

I give up Tejada and Hudson and get Santana and Gagne

Please let me know what you think!

Thanks...

if only you can afford to lose those offensive stats that MT provides. if he is a cornerstone, bid for another position player.

Izturis and Eckstein are on the WW and N. Perez is on my bench. I tried to offer him Sheffield since he wants RBI's and I have a deep OF, but he wouldn't bite. I think I'm going to do it, but wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy.

No good, Gag-knee hasn't been very good lately even with all those saves. Personally, I think Tejada will have another MVP season and Hudson is the pitcher the A's should have kept. Santana is Santana and the trade is pretty even but I personally wouldn't give up those guys.

Yeah, my major concern is Gagne and the Dodgers cold streak. I have faith in Santana vs. Hudson. I have a huge lead in RBI's and have Sheff, D. Lee, Mora etc to more than make up the loss of Tejada....

What stats are counted in your league also plays a role. Off the top of my head though, being a Tejada owner, I would not do it. I traded Tejada last year for Griffey, Renteria and Furcal. Traded Griffey for Dunn, then Dunn for Santana, and I was still mad that I traded Miguel away.

Let's look at MJ's stats.
BA: .320 (5th)
Slg %: .606 (3rd)
HR: 15 (3rd)
RBI: 47 (2nd)
Runs: 40 (5th)

Those are his rankings in the AL. I think you are underestimating how much you will lose giving him up. Santana vs. Hudson is pretty much a wash. You should get marginally better pitching stats with Santana. So then you get Gagne, fresh off of an injury. So you are willing to give up all that offense for a minimal gain in ERA/WHIP, plus some saves? I wouldn't do that trade.

EDIT, Picture matchup:
Santana W-L: 6-2 ERA: 3.67 WHIP: .940 SO: 105
Hudson W-L: 6-4 ERA: 3.08 WHIP: 1.44 SO: 47

Basically Hudson walks more and gets less strikeouts.

which OF do you have? you can always trade excess OF for a smaller name pitcher. post your entire team if you can.

No, I wouldn't do it. Hudson is a pretty good good pitcher the way I see it:

You lose in RBI, HR and AVG (regardless of who replaces Tejada). You gain a K's and a little in ERA and SAVES. Unless you're really far ahead in offensive categories I wouldn't do it.

not to mention, if you're in a yahoo league that counts CG or SHO, that Santana only has 1 CGSHO in his life. Yes he's a better pitcher than Hudson, but still not worth the loss imo.
