Well, this week I'm going into facing the league leader (I'm in fifth) and he has a stacked roster...

And I'm happy, because four of my starters (A. Green, F. Taylor, D. Mason, and A. Crumpler) are bye weeks...

So here's what I did: My starting QBs are D. Brees and T. Brady... So I picked up 2 SD WR's (E. Parker and K. McCardell) so hopefully I can get double points for Brees TD passes... I also picked up SD's Backup RB since Tomlinson isn't looking good for going the whole game... I picked up C. Baker from NYJ for TE...

I'm pretty much rolling the dice hoping that Brees has a huge game and hooks up with one of the three SD players I picked up...

Good or bad strategy? There's not much else I can do, everyone else left absolutely sucks...

who are your RB's for the game?

as for rolling the dice on Brees and his recievers, I think you have a good shot at winning that bet. They're playing New Orleans. If they can use LT early and establish the opportunity for the Play action pass, then you'll have an awesome day. However, the inconsistancies of the Saints leads me to believe that if you're going to beat them, you're going to crush them, if they're on, you might squeek by... but it won't be an easy game. If San Diego doesn't put up big numbers against NO, then you're gonna get killed. I think if you were going to put your eggs all in one basket for a week, you put them in the right basket.

I have Tom Brady on my team in my fantasy league and he's been consistant week to week, at least up until last week when they lost. But still. He's a good quarterback.

If I had to pick up a TE.... I wouldn't have picked up Becht, at least not this week. The Jets DO have a prolific offense... but Becht is splitting time with Chris Baker as well. Not to mention... While Buffalo has been losing, they still have one of the top defenses in the league, they might not be scoring, but other teams aren't scoring much against them either.

hope this helps.

N.O. won't shut them down. However, that limits you to basically the scoring of 1 game, with sucks. See if McGahee or Droughns are still available. Or take a gamble on Onterio Smith from MN.

I like your QB and WR stategy (at least with McCardell for sure). I'm not sold on Chatman b/c if it's close I think LT will play the entire game, giving you a goose egg and RB. You might want to try Onterrio Smith if available (as someone mentioned) although he isn't much safer.

If there isn't much left then it's as good as strategy as anything else and I wouldn't be totally discouraged going into a week with that team.

The only thing that I might try other than massing up a bunch of players from the same team, is to find out who his quarterback is throwing to... and pick up those WR's...

that way you can at least negate his quarterback... if he throws a touchdown to one of his recievers, that's 6 points for his quarterback and 6 points for your reciever.

ultimately 0-0

Then try to find the little points here and there... try to find a kicker who has a favorable matchup. Someone who probably kicks often for 3, rather than 1. Scobee from Jacksonville is one of those, and is probably open in most leagues.

that's the only other suggestion I have.

I have Jeff Reed from STL as my kicker, I think the Rams and Pats will have a shootout this weekend so he should get a good amount of points...

I had to gamble, four starters out including my best RBs...

This is the only way I think I can have a shot at victory... I'm going up against a Manning/Harrison combination and he's high point man in the league...

Well you must be in a small league.
My league has 12 people and the only quarterbacks you could pick up from waivers or free agency are Josh McCown, Kyle Boller or Aj Feely.

Brees is a good pick up, he's having a pretty good year.
I have Antonio Gates at my tight end spot and he's been a freakin' monster.

I also have Michael Vick but he's been a bust so far...save last week and maybe one more.
I put Ben Rothleisberger in there instead.

I picked up him and Reuben Droughns before anyone had a chance to.

Back on Topic...

McCardell is playing with confidence, Antonio Gates is the league's best tight end right now and LT is known for his receiving ability out of the backfield.

However, I would advise against using both of SD's wide receivers. I'd use McCardell for this week and then go pick up someone else off of waivers...

Well, I don't know if it's going to be enough, but you racked up at least 24 points with brees throwing touchdowns today, so you probably got about 30 points from him just for the yardage and touchdowns combined.

However, if you played the rest of those guys, then those are probably the only points you got. Baker didn't do anything for the Jets (like I said he was going to) and McCardell and Parker just had catches for yardage, Antonio gates did all the scoring and Chatman only carried the ball 7 times

let me know how you turn out.
