I've been searching for a good fan speed controller but all I can find are ones designed for case fans. I've got this Vantec Aeroflow, which is a great CPU fan, but omfg, after like 3 years it's time to do something about it.

So can you guys recommend a good CPU fan controller? Don't care about price or if it doubles as a case fan controller, I JUST NEED SOMETHING TO STOP THE NOISE!!

-thanks

Try and get a new CPU HSF. Vantecs are known for being loud (especially the Tornado). The better quality fan controllers will cost you more than getting a decent heatsink and fan. What kind of CPU are you on?

case fans and cpu fans are the same thing. they're both fans. any controller should work fine.

For my old computer, I'm planning to get a fan adapter on the Volcano 10+ and change that Thermaltake 60 mm to a Cooler Master 80 mm. My parents are using my old AXP2400+ these days and I would like to do them a favor by eliminating a main source of noise on that thing. If the fan reduces noise and I find out that cheapo 350W PSU is the only main noise producer in the case, I'm going to get them a new power supply.

Another way to reduce noise is to get a fan adapter. Larger fans = more air and usually less noise.
