We are thinking of getting an awning (sic?) on the back patio and are looking at fans. My works has some pretty cool ones in a few of the conference rooms. Never seen them before. Pretty cool fans.

Nifty fans. Some of them look very much like some airliner wings, which I'm sure is no coincidence. :)

Website: Looks like they focused entirely on making it look fancy, presumably after their usability consultant got his head lopped off by a fan.

"Click to scroll text" - one click required per line. o_O
- Don't know which fan you're looking for? No, you can't click on the category to bring up a convenient overview, you need to go through each product individually.

Those (or something like them) are the new thing for shops (as in automotive, or anything similar).

A/C units that can keep up with a 12+ bay high-ceiling shop, even if it only has one or two doors, are insanely large and expensive to operate. Shops with individual doors...forget it. So people usually resort to individual fans, which they direct every which way, blowing against each other, giving you a lovely swirling vortex of hot, stagnant air.

A few of those giant, slow RPM fans on the ceiling make quite a difference.
