fans w/ ultra d

i have my exhaust and cpu fan connected to the mobo...

i know i cannot change the rpm on my cpu fan (92mm panaflow L1a), but the exhaust (120mm panaflow m1a) runs at full speed, no matter what setting i use in speed fan, what am i doing wrong?

Speedfan doesn't work with that board (as far as I know) I have the same board.

Also, this is just me, it's not a good idea to conect case fans on the motherboard. It may put to much of a load on it and blow something out.

It's better to get a fan controler.

bump, thanks sketch, but anymore ideas? i dont really want to buy a fan controller :-/

is there something in the bios i should be looking for?

I have an ultra d, and AFAIK you can only control 3 fans from the bios - 2 of those are the cpu and chipset fans. So that leaves only 1 fan left, and it's the one near the cpu fan connector. You can set the fan to turn on only at a specific temp and to go full speed at a specific temp using the bios. I think it's in the PC health status screen.

Also, I have 2 case fans connected to the board, without any instability issues, and this is in a rig where pretty much everything is OC'd, and using the 5v line on the mem.

likw munky said, you can use the header up by the cpu header. use ITE smart guardian from your driver disk and you can control it anyway you want.

just go to options, PWMIC fan and select what how you want to set it. you can either have it spin up/down at certain temps or just use the software option to set it at a constant speed.

i use a fan controller myself 😛
