fans... this or that?

This is a little bit early but once the 6960x and pascal are out, I am going to build the elusive dream pc.

I want to use Noctua fans for the build, but I want black ones. The LTT fans are available again but in a limited supply. I could also go the industrialppc for black noctua's.

The IndustrialPPC fans negatives seem to be, that they are louder since the rpm is higher and they cannot be controlled with low noise adapters, so I need to use PWM to control them. Are there any more negatives?

Should I buy the LTT fans now and save them for the build? or should I buy the IndustrialPPC fans when I do the build (since they are not limited)?

If you look at both the 120 and 140mm versions of the industials at Amazon, you can read a lot of reviews. It appears that they are more noisy, even at the same RPM as the other Noctuas. They come with fewer extras, e.g. Y and low noise adapters, etc. It appears that you can't run them at lower RPM's (as compared to other Noctuas) either.

I wasn't aware of the LTT fans until your post. The Redux fans are also black.

I've got the iPPC-3000's on my radiator. Fan speed is set to 25% (1,000rpm) it's pretty quiet. Crank them up to max though and you'll swear your case is trying to take off.

If you want black 120mm fans, then the Nidec Darkside PWM GTs are a quieter, more efficient alternate to the LinusDumbTips Nocs: http://www.performance-pcs.com/darkside-gentle-typhoon-performance-radiator-fan-550-1850rpm-58cfm-black-edition-pwm.html

ThermalBench Test

If you only want to be Noc'd up and since you have to wait for the other components, might want to wait for the new Noctua 120 and 140 models which are expected to be released this summer/fall.
