Antec True550 can with "Fan Only" connector. Can you tell me why they provide specific connector for case fan (its advantage)? Control case fan spped automatically?

Also, what's the purpose of the PSU fan? If I connect the PSU fan to the power fan connector on the motherboard, I will be able to monitor PSU fan speed?

 
the fan only connectors are 7v and not 12v, its for running fans that have a 4pin molex conector at 1/2 speed

Actually, they are 5v, not that it makes much difference.
 
they won't hardly spin the vantec stealths i have in my case, ended up just plugging them into the regular 12v lead.
