Modding a case to take 140mm fans up front. I have room up front to build a box to pull the fans back 50cm or so from the front. This seems like a good plan as the fans will not be flat against the filters and thus pull the air through more of the filters surface area. So, instead of just two 140mm circles of filter surface it will have an area of 140mm x 320mm. Is my thinking wrong on this?
 
I have the space. Plan to leave about 40cm of space. That way if I ever decide to I can but a radiator in that space. Or put the fans in front and the radiator on the other side.
