hey guys, im tired of being annoyed of my modded power supply 80mm fans. they push air, but are loud. its really annoying now. so i want u 2 reccoment me some fans (120 mm preferrably) that have high cfm, and low noise. i found some 86 cfm and 32 db but theyre all 15 bucks. and recommend me a fan controller for up to 4-5 fans. thanks.

But seriously, the Rheobus is a good, cheap unit. http://www.jab-tech.com for $9.00 +sh. Comes with no fan extensions - you'll need some.

Or you can grab a prettier and more compact CoolermasterAerogate I for $13. shipped. Just click the link in my sig. And it comes with 4 fan extensions, one 3-pin and three 2-pin. Extra 3-pin extensions. $1. each.

guys, i have one more question, i know it could be hard to explain, but is 3 fans each with 35-40db noise loud? thanks.

I got one of these on clearance:

I don't use the built in fan or hard drive cage or the included temperature sensors. It controls 4 fans from 0 to 12 volts and gives you a readout of their rpm if your fan has the rpm lead. These are the fans I use:

They're audible at their full 1300rpm, but almost silent turned down to 700 rpm for the front panel fan and 1000 rpm for the CPU fan. They don't push a ton of air, but with the controller you can adjust them til you get an acceptable compromise of temperature vs. noise.

If Im not using a controller, where can I get a resister mod to undervolt the Yate Loon D12SL12 to be similar to the Nexus fans?

I found this but it only drops to 9V. Don't the Nexus run at 7v?

To tell you the truth, 30DB is pretty loud, I have one 30DB Antec Tricool, and wow, I can't stand it at all, I turned it down to the 24db, but now I have it running at somthing lower. Really, I have 2 25DB fans in the front of my case, 80mm and they are very loud as well when they're up, I bought the Sunbeam Rhebous, the thing is great, turned down my fans to 7v, much quieter..

Really, you don't need a lot of CFM to keep your computer cool, as long as you have decent airflow you should be fine..

You can also find the Sunbean for like $10 at SVC...
