Let's say "this guy" has a Size D 1.5volt battery and I want it to power a fan, 3 wires black red yellow. What does "this guy" do? 😛
 
daisy chain 8 1.5v batteries to get 12v, black wire to negative, white wire to positive. third wire is for monitoring system and can only be used by mb.

edit: sorry. red to positive. black or striped wire is always negative though.
