Don't have the two 120mm fans on the side as they went out.

Anyways looking to improve the airflow a bit.... Right now one 200mm on the top & 1 120mm on the rear.

Motherboard is an Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3.

The MSI Lightning R9 290X takes up 3 slots and will be next to the X-Fi Xtreme Music PCI sound sound card on the bottom slots near the power supply.

Just looking for advice. Thanks. :)

Should I get another 200mm fan on the top or add one on the side of the case?

Since your intake fans are dead it would prob. be a good idea to add a 120/140 in the front for intake and a 200mm side fan blowing at the motherboard, this should help balance out your airflow, I'd suggest having more intake pressure to have a positive pressure case to cut down on the dust.

Without blowing the hot air of my typical "War and Peace" answers, I'll simply say "+1" and  to the Arcane answer.

I guess the real question should be "what happened to the two original fans? Why did they 'go out'?" To get the answer to that question, I'd ask how -- and to what -- did you have them connected?

I've never blown out a motherboard fan port, but I had a mobo with at least one port that behaved f***y -- not funny. The maximum amperage spec for those ports can either be a total for all ports on the board, or amperage-per-port.

I've also encountered fan wiring that was defective.

If your fans were powered off the PSU, I can't see how that would've done damage, unless you had a cheap or defective PSU.

Maybe I mistook what you said. Maybe you just "took the fans out deliberately" and they "didn't go out by themselves" -- meaning they didn't die.

I'd at least look at some 200 mm fans to see if you can get another one in that case. The weaker 200mm's are CoolerMaster and Apevia. NZXT makes one with a rifle-bearing that is rated for 166 CFM at its top-end, and would obviously fit that case without any problem. Bitfenix makes the "Spectre Pro" which is an LED fan (that can be turned off) rated for 144CFM. The mounting holes are the same as Apevia or CoolerMaster, but you might have to drill two or more holes in your NZXT case.
