Fan Speed control

I have Zalman 9500 LED for my E6400 cooling.
WHen I updated Asus AI tool to latest version, Zalman only spins 1400rpm (lowest) even though I have set to max speed from the remote.
So I uninstalled the latest version and reinstalled the AI tool from CD. (I did clean up registry). However, the fan does not spin at max speed any more unless I go to AI tool and play with the fan speed control tool. Does anyone know what is goin on?
When I set Qfan control for CPU/chasis fan for Optimal or performance, nothing changes.
I have ASUS p5B deluxe
